the Tide), Coiscéim (1995), a work on language promotion with special
regard to the Irish language. He has contributed many articles and
papers to Irish language teaching journals etc. His Ráleabhar

Gaeilge is very popular. A novel, Ardfhear was highly acclaimed.
He has also published several short stories and essays. His unpublished
works include intensive teacher-taught Irish Language courses for both
adults and teenagers. He complied and taught the first ever intensive
course in the Irish Language.

Course Content and Construction
The
courses are based on a critical evaluation of the theories of a
functional/notional syllabus and the communicative approach to language
teaching and learning. While theories of transformational generative
grammar are not ignored choice of exponants for the realisation of
functions and notions takes account of the valuable work done on the
structures and vocabulary of the Irish language. A sounds course, based
on a phonemic analysis of the language forms an important part of all
our courses. Aspects of the history and literature of the language are
included in courses as appropriate.
