The complete guide to the Dingle Peninsula, Ireland

Every year during the month of August, Dingle plays host to the famous Dingle Races. Spread over three days, this meeting is a must for all racing fans. Planning a holiday to Dingle during this time will require pre-booked accommodation as availability will always be tight.

Many well-known personalities and politicians have visited the Dingle Races over the years including Ted Kennedy, Bob Dole, Charlie Haughey, Alan Dukes, Julie Roberts, Mary Black, JP McManus, Aiden McGuire and Bertie Ahern.

The Dingle Races is one of the oldest meetings in the country with a deep and proud tradition. In recent years it has developed enormously and is now the biggest flapper meeting in the country and attracts huge crowds to the Dingle Peninsula.

Set in a most scenic location, the magnificent Ballintaggart Course enjoys a spectacular panoramic view of both the bay and harbour and is an ideal venue for a family outing.

Live music groups are lined up to perform for the event, while amusements and full bar and snack facilities will be available to the punters.
