The first parade of the day in Ireland for over 100 years has always been at Dingle. The Dingle Fife and Drum Band marches through the town to the harbor at dawn in the dark. As the parade ends, the local priest blesses a batch of freshly picked shamrocks and distributes them to everyone -- and the parade is over by 7 a.m.


The parade, jointly organised by Craobh An Aghasaigh, Comhaltas Ceoltóiri
Eireann Dingle and Dingle Chamber of Commerce.
The peninsula business, tourism, sporting, cultural, educational and
community interests will all be represented.
The parade kicks off from the hospital at 12.45pm by the Dingle Fife
and Drum Band followed by Dingle Bord na n”g GAA.
The parade will attract many tourists to the town as well as the huge local
turnout.
